FAQ

Crane service questions

Answers about our certified operators and riggers, taxi crane day work, rigging and safety plans, crane sizes and the area we serve.

Are your crane operators NCCCO certified?

Yes. Concho Crane Co.'s crane operators are NCCCO certified. NCCCO is the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators.

Do you provide riggers?

Yes. Every job goes out with an NCCCO-certified operator and an NCCCO-certified rigger. We don't send riggers on their own.

What kind of crane work do you do?

Any job that needs a crane. Oilfield work (midstream, oil & gas and frac) is the core of what we do, and we also work in construction, infrastructure, wind, HVAC and more. We do taxi crane day work and write rigging plans and safety plans.

What is taxi crane service?

Taxi crane work and day work are the same thing. A crane, a certified operator and a rigger come out for a short, straightforward lift, set the load and move on.

Do you write rigging plans and safety plans?

Yes. Concho Crane Co. writes rigging plans and safety plans for crane jobs.

What area do you serve?

We're based in West Texas and work statewide, anywhere in Texas.

What size crane can you bring?

Whatever the lift needs, from light picks to heavy lifts. Tell us the load and the site, and we'll plan the job. Every job goes out with an NCCCO-certified operator and rigger.

Do you supply ironworkers or other workers?

No. Every job goes out with the crane, an NCCCO-certified operator and an NCCCO-certified rigger, and that's the crew. Ironworkers, setters, laborers and other trades come from you or your contractor.

Can you handle tandem lifts with two cranes?

Yes. When a load is too long or too heavy for one crane, or one crane can't make the reach, we plan a tandem lift with two cranes. A tandem lift needs its own written rigging plan, with each crane's share of the load worked out before the pick.
